The 2024–2025 general scholarship application is now open for students at rural and community campuses for the 2024–2025 academic year.
At the University of Alaska, we value accessible, high-quality higher education and are committed to helping students reach their academic goals. The UA Foundation awards more than $4 million in scholarships each year, supporting students enrolled at any University of Alaska campus (UAA, UAF, UAS, and all community campuses). Hundreds of awards are distributed annually based on merit, financial need, exceptional achievement in specific fields, or a combination of these factors.
Eligibility (general)
- Minimum GPA: 2.0
- Satisfactory Academic Progress required
- Grade levels: Undergraduate and Graduate students
Important deadlines and selection timeline
- Most scholarship awards are made early in the spring term. To be considered for the majority of scholarships, applications must be submitted by February 15.
- Applications received through July 15 will still be considered for late awards, newly created scholarships, and awards specifically intended for rural and community campus students.
Dr. Jon Baker Memorial Scholarship — overview
- Purpose: To provide financial support for tuition and other educational expenses for full-time students at the University of Alaska Anchorage who are admitted to a degree-seeking program. Preference is given to students majoring in Psychology.
- Minimum award: $500 per academic year
Dr. Jon Baker Memorial Scholarship — specific qualifications
- Demonstrated motivation, academic promise, and leadership potential.
- Good academic standing: minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate applicants and 3.0 for graduate applicants.
- Must be formally admitted to a degree-seeking program at UAA (undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or vocational program).
- Eligible applicants may be incoming or continuing UAA students.
- Citizenship/residency: open to U.S. citizens, non-U.S. citizens, Alaska residents, and out-of-state residents.
- Preference will be given to applicants formally admitted into a Psychology program.
