At the University of Alaska, we recognize the importance of a quality education and are dedicated to helping you achieve your higher education goals. The UA Foundation offers more than $4 million in scholarship awards annually, making higher education possible for any student who seeks it. Scholarships are available to students attending any campus of the UA (UAA/UAF/UAS and all community campuses). Many options are available, with hundreds of students receiving awards based on merit, financial need, outstanding achievement in specialized fields, or any combination of these criteria.

- Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Grade Level: Undergrad, Graduate
Selection Criteria
Most scholarships are awarded early in the spring of each academic year. For this reason applications must be received by February 15, to be considered for most scholarships. Any applications received through July 15 will be used for any late awarded scholarships, new scholarships that may open up, and rural and community campuses.
The purpose of the Dr. Jon Baker Memorial Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time University of Alaska Anchorage students who are admitted into a degree-seeking program; preference will be given to students majoring in Psychology.
Award amount is a minimum $500 per academic year
Qualifications:
- Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential.
- Applicant must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 for undergraduate and 3.0 for graduate.
- Applicant must be formally admitted into an undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and/or vocational degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- Applicant may be an incoming or continuing student at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
- Applicant may be a U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen, Alaska resident, or out-of-state resident.
- Preference will be given to students who are formally admitted into a Psychology program.
