Overview
Sealaska annually provides hundreds of merit-based scholarships — both full- and part-time — to support emerging leaders from our community. Since the program began, we have distributed roughly 11,000 scholarships, totaling about $20 million.
Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy all of the following:
- Meet the definition of Alaska Native as “Native” under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, 43 U.S.C. 1602(b).
- Be enrolled in Sealaska Corporation, OR be a Native lineal descendant of an Alaska Native who is enrolled in Sealaska Corporation (ownership of Sealaska stock is not required).
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate study or 3.0 for graduate study.
- Be accepted to and enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
Key Dates (annual)
- December 15: Application opens
- February 1: Early Bird Incentive deadline
- March 1: Scholarship application deadline
- May 1: Notification of scholarship recipients
